What's in a Name?

Are you proud of your name? Would you like to show it off? Or do you need something to decorate your walls or give as a baby gift?
I have a project for you! This versatile project is good for any person or name! I first saw this project when a fellow consultant posted something like it on the company bulletin board. Then, I made my friend Sonya one for the birth of her baby boy. Isn't this Animal Cookies paper just perfect for a baby boy?

After that, I decided I liked them so much I made one for myself. And just recently, I finally hung it on my wall! I love the Emporium paper!

And now I've made them for all occasions. I made one for my father-in-law for Christmas that said "Wright Racing." It had stickers, racing paper and stamped racing images. I also made a couple for friends for Christmas, using their last name. (hopefully I'll post pictures of these soon).
These wonderful projects are quite easy - pick any coordinating papers and some cardstock. And pick any size frame. I've used 11"x14", 9"x12" and 12"x12". And then cut as many squares as you need, at 1.75". A friend of mine cuts hers at 1.5", which just leaves a little extra in the background.
Add any matching embellishments that you want, such as stickers, ribbon, stamped images ... or even use dimensional elements, if you have a frame that will support it.
For the name part, I usually use some cardstock, cut in the same sized sqaures. And then I cut some lighter cardstock slightly smaller (I use 1.5" for 1.75" squares) and either stamp or glue the letters for my name onto the lighter cardstock.
One night, my sister-in-law called me in a panic wanting a gift for her parents, my in-laws, for parents' night. So, I made her a name frame. It was for basketball. I actually put photos on this one - the first time I've done that - and cut-outs from my cricut. I used her name and her number. I thought it was quite cool; and they must have liked it too as it is hanging on a wall in their house! (again, I'm trying to get a picture of this one!)

You could even put many photos on one, cutting them down to 1.75" and using them as the squares.
And then I used a new paper pack from the January Close to My Heart Idea Book to make this one for my friend Julie for the birth of her new baby girl. I thought it turned out very, very cute! I don't know if you can tell, but I actually wrote some of the important information about her birth in the squares. Don't you love this Topstitch paper?

I look forward to seeing your name frames! Don't think you can make this project yourself? E-mail me today to set up a time for me to help you make your own!
Happy Friday! Have a fabulous weekend (not sure when I'll post again as I have a CTMH meeting and a PC show this weekend)!

Constantly looking for one place to store all your important dates?

How many of you have all kinds of important dates running through your head, like birthdays and anniversaries, that you know you are bound to forget? I know I do ... and have. I can remember the random birthday of a college friend's brother or a high school class mate that I haven't really talked to since high school, but I can't remember my sister-in-law's or many of my best friends' special days, and even after only three years of marriage, I'll admit I've even once spaced off my own anniversary and scheduled a Pampered Chef show (it isn't always the husbands who do this!) I've tried storing these dates in different places: I've made an altered rolodex for that purpose, but I never filled it out; I've also used - and even made my own - card book. The one I got for high school graduation, I filled in all the dates, but at this point in time, I can't tell you where the book is. The one I made myself, I don't know if I even filled i

My attempts at photo editing sites ...

Hey there blog readers! I know, I know, I was supposed to be posting more regularly ... I'm sorry. But my garage sale is done, so that means I should have more time to post, right? The reason I am posting today is for that Nebraska Learns class I talked about at the beginning of the month. Nothing like procrastinating - today is the last day I can complete it! ;) I am actually really enjoying this first "assignment." Our assignment was to play with photo editing sites. For my scrapbooking friends out there, I'm thinking this could do wonders for your already wonderful pages! As I was working on my second picture, I had an idea. There are many pictures - like that particular one - that I'd like to include in my scrapbook, but can't make myself create a whole page for a picture of a flower ... but can you imagine putting this photo of the flower on it? I can. How much cooler would that make the page? I could talk about where I was and why I took the pictu
