My first visit to the blogosphere

A little bit about me: if you haven't read my profile or you don't already know me, you might not know this. I am an independent consultant for two wonderful companies, The Pampered Chef and Close to My Heart. I also have a couple of other jobs to keep me busy, but the main focus of this blog will probably focus on my exploits in both of those roles. I am also happily married and have been very lucky to end up in a wonderful town in Nebraska, close to many of our wonderful family and friends (even though I am a Kansas girl through and through), and if I had to guess, I'd say some of that might end up in this blog. As a little business plug, if you are interested in making purchases please contact me at jamiedusin@hotmail.com or use the link on the left page to visit my CTMH Web site. You can also visit my Pampered Chef Web site, contact me for the link. And now on to my first official blog post:
I consider myself a crafty person and I love to cook, so I hope I can share some of those joys in my life with you. I'm not sure how successful I'll be at this blogging thing, but I wanted to give it a whirl as a friend/co-worker/neighbor of mine recently started her own blog (feel free to check it out, it's listed in my links) and many of my fellow CTMH consultants have their own blogs and I was starting to feel left out! So, I've decided to use that feeling to inspire me to create my own blog. If it takes as much creativity to write each post as it does just to create the name of the blog, I might be in trouble ... but I can always borrow a muse from a friend or two, like I had to do for the title! I am always excited to see what new project my friend creates next and how creatively she posts it on her blog, so hopefully I can use that excitement to motivate myself to work on some projects and share them with whoever might read this blog.
Most of my projects will probably be paper-based, such as scrapbooking, card making, memory boxes, calendars, etc., but who knows what I might be inspired to do. I know you will all be eagerly awaiting my next post ... as a teaser it could by anything from name frames to memory boxes to scrapbooking and more. While I won't claim the original idea for most of my projects, they will all have my own creative touches. I will also share some of the scrapbook layouts that I can show you how to make through CTMH.
I have a Pampered Chef meeting tonight, but my goal is to post some pictures of my projects tonight or tomorrow. Please be patient with me as I get into the swing of blogging.
Thanks for visiting! Feel free to leave comments!
   Happy Tuesday!

  2. I have 2 favorite months. The first is June, first of all it's because school is out and I get to have my "play" time away from students and it's also my birthday in June. My second favorite is August, due to the fact I love being outdoors in the sunshine working in my yard, fishing, or at the lake... Linda

Constantly looking for one place to store all your important dates?

How many of you have all kinds of important dates running through your head, like birthdays and anniversaries, that you know you are bound to forget? I know I do ... and have. I can remember the random birthday of a college friend's brother or a high school class mate that I haven't really talked to since high school, but I can't remember my sister-in-law's or many of my best friends' special days, and even after only three years of marriage, I'll admit I've even once spaced off my own anniversary and scheduled a Pampered Chef show (it isn't always the husbands who do this!) I've tried storing these dates in different places: I've made an altered rolodex for that purpose, but I never filled it out; I've also used - and even made my own - card book. The one I got for high school graduation, I filled in all the dates, but at this point in time, I can't tell you where the book is. The one I made myself, I don't know if I even filled i

My attempts at photo editing sites ...

Hey there blog readers! I know, I know, I was supposed to be posting more regularly ... I'm sorry. But my garage sale is done, so that means I should have more time to post, right? The reason I am posting today is for that Nebraska Learns class I talked about at the beginning of the month. Nothing like procrastinating - today is the last day I can complete it! ;) I am actually really enjoying this first "assignment." Our assignment was to play with photo editing sites. For my scrapbooking friends out there, I'm thinking this could do wonders for your already wonderful pages! As I was working on my second picture, I had an idea. There are many pictures - like that particular one - that I'd like to include in my scrapbook, but can't make myself create a whole page for a picture of a flower ... but can you imagine putting this photo of the flower on it? I can. How much cooler would that make the page? I could talk about where I was and why I took the pictu
