Cards for Soliders Saturday!

Cards for Soldiers at B Inspired! in downtown Central City Saturday, July 3 as part of the annual Lone Tree Days celebration 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Please join me in making cards for the soldiers overseas who are fighting to protect our freedom! Without the brave, this would not be the home of the free! Cards will first be sent to local soldiers. If you have any names/addresses of local soldiers, please bring them to the event or get them to me or the Central City Area Chamber of Commerce. Any leftover cards will be sent in care packages to soldiers serving in Afghanistan. The Chamber will provide the postage. Make one card or make a dozen! All paper and adhesive will be provided by the Chamber and me. If you plan on making multiple cards, please feel free to bring your own cutter and/or tools. A selection of Close to My Heart products will also be available for use in making your cards. Questions? Please contact me by leaving a comment or e-mai

Good Eats!!

Last Saturday I had a Pampered Chef show for a friend's sister-in-law in Kearney. I tried a new recipe there, and it was quite good, so I wanted to be sure to share it.   The first recipe was actually one I'd made before, but I have a funny-ish story, at least I think so. We made it at the show, and it turned out really well. It's called a Deep Covered Baker Dump Cake (at least, that's what I call it). You make it in your Pampered Chef Deep Covered Baker (contact me today to purchase yours before it becomes a host-only product) in the microwave in about 13 minutes with only three ingredients. Yay! It's awesome.   So, we made it at the show. And then after the show, I went to my uncle's backyard barbecue. I'm quite a picky eater, as anybody who knows me would agree, so I didn't find a lot at the barbecue I wanted to eat - it was kind of a potluck. So, I went to my car and got the leftover dump cake. My family pretty much devoured it - it was great!! S

A few more photos ...

So, tomorrow is my fourth wedding anniversary! And instead of being downstairs making my husband a one-of-a-kind card, I'm sitting here watching TV and typing on my blog. Hey, I still have a good seven hours before it's tomorrow!   We actually decided to not do gifts this year - so I'm off the hook for that part. It's really sad, but even though I am so good with dates and numbers and remembering the birthday of a college friend's younger brother, I have issues remembering my anniversary. Our first anniversary, I had a Pampered Chef show and totallly spaced it off. And actually, tomorrow, I will be driving to Broken Bow after work for a benefit for my aunt and uncle. The plan was to buy ourselves a bigger TV, but right now, it might actually turn into new gutters or a new microwave. Maybe we'll celebrate this weekend, even though I have plans to scrapbook and I think my dear husband has plans to go to a race. Oh, well! I'm a scrapbooker, so I get a pres

Autograph books ... by the pros!

After spending all day yesterday helping 4-H kids from Polk County in Osceola make name frames, I get a "frantic" e-mail/phone call from my friend Kristi reminding me about a conversation we had many weeks (or months) ago about her upcoming trip to Disney on a Pampered Chef Incentive Trip (yay for all the consultants and their families who earned this!) and how she wanted to make her kids (and some kids of fellow consultants who are going) an autograph book.   We had talked about it a while ago, but pretty much she shot down every idea I had (that was just for her, as I'm pretty sure she reads this blog! ;) ) and so I just kind of assumed she had came up with another idea. Until I got that e-mail, that is! Did I mention that she leaves Saturday morning?   So, anyway, I brainstormed with my "partner in crime" (in our CTMH business) Sonya at the workshop, I was actually helping her, and she reminded me of a project I had seen using Close to My Heart Flip Fla

I hope these cards make you smile!

I made these cards for the birthdays of my sisters-in-law. I was so impressed with them that I just had to share. That may sound like I'm trying to toot my own horn, and I'm not meaning to. It's just that most times I make something, I don't actually like them. But these are very cool!   Both of these cards are from the Wishes Card Confidence Program .   I've been wanting to make the Lucky Layers card from Wishes for a long time, but I didn't want to use that many brads. At this point, I am so in love with Close to My Heart and all it's fabulous products, that I can't wait to get rid of all my non-CTMH products, so I'm willing to use as many as needed for a project. Especially for my sisters-in-law!   Enough talking, here are the cards. The first one (blue, orange, pink) is Lucky Layers for my sister-in-law Kelly. The second one is from my sister-in-law Lauren and is Down the Middle.   These cards made me smile, I hope they do you too!!

Pampered Chef Deep Covered Baker update!

A new reward for hosts! ... it's the Deep Covered Baker!!    That's right, as of July 1, the Deep Covered Baker aka Magic Pot will be a host-only product!    Because the Magic Pot has just flown off the shelves, the manufactures are working doubly hard to make sure there are enough for everyone who wants one. Until supply catches up with demand, the company still wants people to have one and so we have made it an exclusive gift for hosts.    I know that some people just aren't interested in having a show, even though I'd love to help you out if you ever change your mind! So, I'd like to give you one more chance to purchase this great product!    June is the last chance for you customers to purchase the Deep Covered Baker. As of July 1, this product will be a host-only product, with a limit of one per show.    Contact me to place your order by June 29 for your very own Deep Covered Baker! For every Deep Covered Baker purchased, you'll receive 10% o

Love the endless creative options of this new CTMH product!

I am so excited about the new  Recipe/Photo Box  from Close to My Heart!!   At our monthly CTMH meeting Saturday, we we able to play with one of these! I am amazed by all the options that are available with it! Not only can it hold recipes and photos, like the name says, but it could also be used to hold your handmade cards or even be used for a small gift box!   I just had a fun idea - I know, rare occurrence, huh? - How about using it as a gift box, for Christmas or birthday or something with a special person. You give it the first time, and then you pass it back and forth each time, with the challenge being that the gift can't be the same one it was before, and it has to fit in the box and it has to be in the same price range. I'm wondering if I can work that out with my sister ... hmm!   My first box I made as a recipe box, and I filled it with our Sugar and Spice Card Kit . It's very neat, isn't it? You can even decorate your own dividers; and you'll ha
