Happy Birthday Grandma!

(and sometimes technology is great!! i figured out later that a draft of my post had actually saved, so i was able to recover it. yeah! enjoy!)

    Good morning!
Today is my Grandma Dusin's 85th birthday! That's quite a feat!
I will admit that I am actually terrible about remembering birthdays. Okay, I guess that's not it, it's more like I am terrible at remembering to do something for birthdays. A lot of times I remember them, I just don't remember to do anything about them.
Which is why the cards from that 25-card workshop (see one of previous posts) would really come in handy, if I ever get them finished! (I had plans last night, but instead finished reading my book - knew I shouldn't have even started it ... do you ever stay up late to finish a book only to be seriously disappointed by the ending? Yeah, that's what I did last night. I was quite angry - seriously, I stayed up late and this is the ending I get?)
Anyway ... so, this morning I went downstairs to make my grandma a card - a day late, but better than never, right? I was going to use one of my half-finished Bella cards, but they didn't match with the stamp set I wanted to use, Cupcake Sprinkles (yes, I'm weird, I know, but they have to match).
So, instead, I took an old Level 1 Paper Pack, Floral Tapestry, and cut up one of the sheets (and I could have made four cards with that) and easily added my sentiment, and some ribbon, and then it was done. They are great to use for cards! And, pretty too - they make the cards look much more complicated than they actually are!
I'm including pictures of the cards ... please post any of your own that you're proud of or e-mail the photo to me. If it's your birthday today, Happy Birthday to You!
     Happy Tuesday!

Constantly looking for one place to store all your important dates?

How many of you have all kinds of important dates running through your head, like birthdays and anniversaries, that you know you are bound to forget? I know I do ... and have. I can remember the random birthday of a college friend's brother or a high school class mate that I haven't really talked to since high school, but I can't remember my sister-in-law's or many of my best friends' special days, and even after only three years of marriage, I'll admit I've even once spaced off my own anniversary and scheduled a Pampered Chef show (it isn't always the husbands who do this!) I've tried storing these dates in different places: I've made an altered rolodex for that purpose, but I never filled it out; I've also used - and even made my own - card book. The one I got for high school graduation, I filled in all the dates, but at this point in time, I can't tell you where the book is. The one I made myself, I don't know if I even filled i

My attempts at photo editing sites ...

Hey there blog readers! I know, I know, I was supposed to be posting more regularly ... I'm sorry. But my garage sale is done, so that means I should have more time to post, right? The reason I am posting today is for that Nebraska Learns class I talked about at the beginning of the month. Nothing like procrastinating - today is the last day I can complete it! ;) I am actually really enjoying this first "assignment." Our assignment was to play with photo editing sites. For my scrapbooking friends out there, I'm thinking this could do wonders for your already wonderful pages! As I was working on my second picture, I had an idea. There are many pictures - like that particular one - that I'd like to include in my scrapbook, but can't make myself create a whole page for a picture of a flower ... but can you imagine putting this photo of the flower on it? I can. How much cooler would that make the page? I could talk about where I was and why I took the pictu
