Thumping Technique

Good morning! Whoops! Another day went by and I spaced off a post again! I guess my posting-every-day goal is not going so well. Oh, well, most of you probably don't want to read my thoughts every day anyway!
I was thinking for this morning I'd share a technique. Every month at our Close to My Heart meetings, one consultant shows the other consultants a technique. I will try to share that with you.
In my opinion, I know quite a lot about scrapbooking ... but I don't know many of the different and creative techniques, so I love this part of the meeting! And many of these techniques are ones I love, but not necessarily ones I would have been brave enough to experiment with myself.
Today we are going to try thumping. And, I actually missed the meeting where this was taught - so I'm going to be learning it myself today too. I took a picture of the technique card they made at the meeting I missed, so now I have to see if I can decipher the instructions - since I took it with my cell phone and it's not a very high quality picture.
First, you choose a bolder, more solid stamp. Attach it to your block, and then choose one lighter colored ink. Then choose one to three darker colored markers (darker than your ink).
   Second, ink your image.
Third, using the brush side of your marker, thump or tap your inked image. Repeat with all colors.
Fourth, before stamping your image, huff on the stamp. Then stamp.
   Enjoy your marbelized image.

Need more detailed instructions - and better pictures? Check out the thumping tutorial on the SplitCoastStampers web site. (It has many great techniques and project ideas - I will blog about that later!)

New products are fast approaching!

Hey there blog readers! I'm so sorry I've been so lax about posting to my blog lately - it's been a crazy month! There has been a trip to Chicago for Pampered Chef national conference - it was amazing! Also in there was the Close to My Heart national conference, which I didn't attend, but I've still got the excitement brewing from all the new product and changes! And a booth for the local Lone Tree Days celebration over the Fourth of July, along with a cousin's Pampered Chef bridal shower ... and more! So, anyway, sorry I didn't post. I had lots of good intentions; and I even got some projects done, but not sure what happened to all my time.    I plan on finding some of those pictures and uploading them soon. Also, I plan on heading downstairs to scrapbook soon - so maybe I'll have some of those pictures to share.    I'm not supposed to share any of the new products before the catalog goes live to customers, but if you contact me, I might give y...

Constantly looking for one place to store all your important dates?

How many of you have all kinds of important dates running through your head, like birthdays and anniversaries, that you know you are bound to forget? I know I do ... and have. I can remember the random birthday of a college friend's brother or a high school class mate that I haven't really talked to since high school, but I can't remember my sister-in-law's or many of my best friends' special days, and even after only three years of marriage, I'll admit I've even once spaced off my own anniversary and scheduled a Pampered Chef show (it isn't always the husbands who do this!) I've tried storing these dates in different places: I've made an altered rolodex for that purpose, but I never filled it out; I've also used - and even made my own - card book. The one I got for high school graduation, I filled in all the dates, but at this point in time, I can't tell you where the book is. The one I made myself, I don't know if I even filled i...
