How many of you have all kinds of important dates running through your head, like birthdays and anniversaries, that you know you are bound to forget? I know I do ... and have. I can remember the random birthday of a college friend's brother or a high school class mate that I haven't really talked to since high school, but I can't remember my sister-in-law's or many of my best friends' special days, and even after only three years of marriage, I'll admit I've even once spaced off my own anniversary and scheduled a Pampered Chef show (it isn't always the husbands who do this!) I've tried storing these dates in different places: I've made an altered rolodex for that purpose, but I never filled it out; I've also used - and even made my own - card book. The one I got for high school graduation, I filled in all the dates, but at this point in time, I can't tell you where the book is. The one I made myself, I don't know if I even filled it in. I've even entered everybody's birthday into my e-mail and had reminders sent to me, but just recently I got the e-mail and thought it was the upcoming Sunday, when in fact it was the past Sunday. Argh!
I'm giving it one more go. It's called an Event Calendar, and Close to My Heart AND I sell blank ones. I have high hopes in this idea for many reasons: it's not huge, it's personable and it can't (hopefully!) get covered up on a desk or lost on a shelf. It hangs on a wall, and it only measures 4"x18". And it's affordable, at only $8.50 plus shipping and tax!

I've bought the calendar, I've decorated it, now I just have to enter the important dates and find a place to hang it, where I'll see it. I'm thinking by my refrigerator, Lord knows I go there frequently!
Anyway, here are my pictures of each month. I used the retired Word Puzzle stamps from Close to My Heart and coordinating paper and embellishments from my stash. Please let me know if you are interested in learning how to make your own or purchasing one.
Thanks for reading (go all the way to the bottom of this post for a chance to win a prize)! Happy Wednesday!

I love the month of September. It's generally cooled down but still nice enough to do a lot of outside things, the leaves will start to turn, and it's just a "mellow" time of year.

thanks Judy M! don't forget to post your favorite calendar design from up above to be entered into the contest (but who knows, maybe you're the only one who reads this, so it won't even matter!) ;)
ReplyDeleteI like May because the weather is usually warm but not hot. Flowers are blooming too and we are not irrigating yet. My favorite of your calendar pages is the August one with the flip flops on it. Sally
ReplyDeleteHi Jamie! This calendar is so cute. I think I like the February design the best, although I love the paper flowers on April too. My favorite month is May...it's warm but not hot, the leaves on the trees are pretty green, the flowers are up, and it's just nice to be able to get outside after winter! Chrissie S
ReplyDeleteMy Favorite month of the year is definately June, but the design on the month of August caught my eye the best. I love the sun and the flip flops because it reminds me of summer!!! Which of course means no school! :)
ReplyDeleteGreat work on the calender Jamie...i am jealous of your talent!
