A simple, creative way to store all your hand-made cards!

So, I didn't make it downstairs yesterday to make my 25 cards. Did any of you get your cards done?
Just in case any of you did, I am going to try to share the instructions on how to make the box in which to store them today. I started this post at about 8 this morning ... sorry it's taken me so long.
Your first step is to order the My Acrylix Organizer from me or my Web site: jamieandsonya.myctmh.com . It's $12.95 plus shipping and tax. And it can also be used to store a whole myriad of things, including our My Acrylix stamps! And then you'll need to get some paper, good adhesive, ribbon and stamp sets.
The card organizer I am including pictures for is one I made for my sister-in-law for Christmas. I filled it with a set of cards made with the 25-card workshop instructions.

The first step is making your dividers. I would recommend starting with at least six, make them 6"x6". For my dividers (for the ones pictured below), I cut the tabs with the Coluzzle tags template. And I also hand wrote my my titles, instead of using the stamp set. Next time, I'll use the stamp set.
To decorate your dividers, cut 6 pieces of cardstock to 4"x6"; 6 pieces of another colored cardstock to 3.75"x6"; and 3 pieces of two different patterned papers to 3.5"x6" (that's six pieces, three of each pattern). Increase this amount if you make more than six dividers.
Your first recommended tabs are: Congratulations, For You, Happy Birthday, Love You, Thank You, Thinking of You (all of these stamps are available in the For Every Occasion stamp set. Come over and borrow mine any time)!

To decorate your card organizer, cut the following pieces:
2 pieces of 3"x12" B&T paper (Background and Texture - patterned)
2 pieces of 1.5"x12" B&T paper
1 piece of 3.5"x6" CS (Cardstock)
1 piece of 3"x5.5" CS
1 piece of 2"x6" CS (this paper will be for your stamped "CARDS." I used the now retired Homestead Alphabet stamp set. You can borrow it, if you come over. If you don't use this same stamp set, I would recommend you stamping your letters first and not cutting this 2"x6" piece.)

Embellish with one piece of 5.5" ribbon and one small ribbon knot bow. Stamp letters for the word cards on the 2"x6" piece of cardstock, if you cut it, and then cut out your letters.
Adhere 5.5" ribbon with glue dots across the 3"x6" cardstock 1/2" from the bottom edge, and then adhere the 3"x6" CS onto 3.5"x6" CS. Adhere letters to this piece, 1/2 inch from the top of the inside CS layer. Adhere the small ribbon knot bow to the ribbon front.
Next, adhere the 1.5"x12" B&T paper to the 3"x12" B&T strips. Apply adhesive generously to the 3"x12" B&T strips and begin placing one strip on the back of the box, starting in the middle and wrapping around to the front for each strip. Repeat with the other strip. The strips will not meet in the front, but that is okay because you will cover it up with your next step. Adhere the "cards" piece to the front of the box, making sure to cover up the gap between the two side strips.
Tie random pieces of ribbon along your box handle to give it just a little something extra!
Your card organizer is complete! Now you just have to fill it with cards. Thanks so much to Chris Green for sharing the instructions to this card organizer. Post a comment if you have questions!
   Happy Wednesday!

Constantly looking for one place to store all your important dates?

How many of you have all kinds of important dates running through your head, like birthdays and anniversaries, that you know you are bound to forget? I know I do ... and have. I can remember the random birthday of a college friend's brother or a high school class mate that I haven't really talked to since high school, but I can't remember my sister-in-law's or many of my best friends' special days, and even after only three years of marriage, I'll admit I've even once spaced off my own anniversary and scheduled a Pampered Chef show (it isn't always the husbands who do this!) I've tried storing these dates in different places: I've made an altered rolodex for that purpose, but I never filled it out; I've also used - and even made my own - card book. The one I got for high school graduation, I filled in all the dates, but at this point in time, I can't tell you where the book is. The one I made myself, I don't know if I even filled i

My attempts at photo editing sites ...

Hey there blog readers! I know, I know, I was supposed to be posting more regularly ... I'm sorry. But my garage sale is done, so that means I should have more time to post, right? The reason I am posting today is for that Nebraska Learns class I talked about at the beginning of the month. Nothing like procrastinating - today is the last day I can complete it! ;) I am actually really enjoying this first "assignment." Our assignment was to play with photo editing sites. For my scrapbooking friends out there, I'm thinking this could do wonders for your already wonderful pages! As I was working on my second picture, I had an idea. There are many pictures - like that particular one - that I'd like to include in my scrapbook, but can't make myself create a whole page for a picture of a flower ... but can you imagine putting this photo of the flower on it? I can. How much cooler would that make the page? I could talk about where I was and why I took the pictu
