New products are fast approaching!

Hey there blog readers! I'm so sorry I've been so lax about posting to my blog lately - it's been a crazy month! There has been a trip to Chicago for Pampered Chef national conference - it was amazing! Also in there was the Close to My Heart national conference, which I didn't attend, but I've still got the excitement brewing from all the new product and changes! And a booth for the local Lone Tree Days celebration over the Fourth of July, along with a cousin's Pampered Chef bridal shower ... and more! So, anyway, sorry I didn't post. I had lots of good intentions; and I even got some projects done, but not sure what happened to all my time.    I plan on finding some of those pictures and uploading them soon. Also, I plan on heading downstairs to scrapbook soon - so maybe I'll have some of those pictures to share.    I'm not supposed to share any of the new products before the catalog goes live to customers, but if you contact me, I might give y...

Good Eats!!

Last Saturday I had a Pampered Chef show for a friend's sister-in-law in Kearney. I tried a new recipe there, and it was quite good, so I wanted to be sure to share it.   The first recipe was actually one I'd made before, but I have a funny-ish story, at least I think so. We made it at the show, and it turned out really well. It's called a Deep Covered Baker Dump Cake (at least, that's what I call it). You make it in your Pampered Chef Deep Covered Baker (contact me today to purchase yours before it becomes a host-only product) in the microwave in about 13 minutes with only three ingredients. Yay! It's awesome.   So, we made it at the show. And then after the show, I went to my uncle's backyard barbecue. I'm quite a picky eater, as anybody who knows me would agree, so I didn't find a lot at the barbecue I wanted to eat - it was kind of a potluck. So, I went to my car and got the leftover dump cake. My family pretty much devoured it - it was great!! S...

Autograph books ... by the pros!

After spending all day yesterday helping 4-H kids from Polk County in Osceola make name frames, I get a "frantic" e-mail/phone call from my friend Kristi reminding me about a conversation we had many weeks (or months) ago about her upcoming trip to Disney on a Pampered Chef Incentive Trip (yay for all the consultants and their families who earned this!) and how she wanted to make her kids (and some kids of fellow consultants who are going) an autograph book.   We had talked about it a while ago, but pretty much she shot down every idea I had (that was just for her, as I'm pretty sure she reads this blog! ;) ) and so I just kind of assumed she had came up with another idea. Until I got that e-mail, that is! Did I mention that she leaves Saturday morning?   So, anyway, I brainstormed with my "partner in crime" (in our CTMH business) Sonya at the workshop, I was actually helping her, and she reminded me of a project I had seen using Close to My Heart Flip Fla...

Pampered Chef Deep Covered Baker update!

A new reward for hosts! ... it's the Deep Covered Baker!!    That's right, as of July 1, the Deep Covered Baker aka Magic Pot will be a host-only product!    Because the Magic Pot has just flown off the shelves, the manufactures are working doubly hard to make sure there are enough for everyone who wants one. Until supply catches up with demand, the company still wants people to have one and so we have made it an exclusive gift for hosts.    I know that some people just aren't interested in having a show, even though I'd love to help you out if you ever change your mind! So, I'd like to give you one more chance to purchase this great product!    June is the last chance for you customers to purchase the Deep Covered Baker. As of July 1, this product will be a host-only product, with a limit of one per show.    Contact me to place your order by June 29 for your very own Deep Covered Baker! For every Deep Covered Baker p...

Winner, Winner, Chicken Dinner!!

So, I've never used that phrase before - first time for everything, huh? It's just one of those phrases I didn't think I could pull off ... and not sure if I was successful or not! ;)   Anyway, the point of this post was to thank those who left comments under my Event Calendar post and inform Chrissie that she is the winner of her very own blank Event Calendar!   I didn't have anybody leave a comment under my PC post about trifles, so there is no winner there.   Check out the posts this month for a chance to possibly win a new CTMH product and a PC sprinkle.   Thanks for leaving comments! I love reading them!                             ~Jamie

Happy May Day! Pampered Chef style!

Today - May 1 - marks the beginning of two important things; both in Close to My Heart and The Pampered Chef.    I will make two separate posts so as not to confuse or undermine the importance for each company. Today's post will focus on The Pampered Chef. Check tomorrow or Monday to find out what's so special about May for Close to My Heart.    For The Pampered Chef, May 1 marks the 11th year of our Help With Cancer campaign. It's Friday! Par-tay!!

T hank G oodness I t's F riday! I'm sorry to all of you who have a five-days-a-week job. But I don't know if I could go back to that. Even though, lately, with my four-ish jobs I've been working four to seven days a week, and I can tell you, I'm getting tired. There's definitely not near enough time to scrapbook, even if I don't work that hard during the day (such as sitting at a computer doing my job at the library, or sitting at a desk subbing - I mean not manual labor by hard) I'm tired when I get home. And downstairs to my craft room seems like such a long and arduous trip. Anyway, I'm glad it's the weekend - mine will be Sunday and Monday - I can't wait. I've got a whole bunch of relaxing planned for Sunday and then scrapbooking with my friend Kristi on Monday.    So, for the moment, my head is a little too tired to think of some scrapbooking tips/projects to share with you - and I have to start getting ready for work in about fi...

Pampering a friend with The Pampered Chef

Sunday, April 11, 2010   So, I forgot to post yesterday, I apologize. I was so proud of myself that I had posted every day during my first week. I will try to post twice today to make up for it.   I had a Pampered Chef show yesterday for my friend Adele! It was great fun. I love being a Pampered Chef consultant, who wouldn't love having parties as a job? I got to try some new recipes yesterday at Adele's show that I hadn't tried before. I'm so glad she chose the ones she did because man, were they good! I will post the recipes down below.   If any of you ever have any questions about being a Pampered Chef consultant, please let me know. I don't know how to explain to you how much I enjoy it. When I first moved to town, I didn't know anybody outside of my job, and it was hard for me to make friends. Once I started Pampered Chef, I met lots of wonderful people, some of whom I consider my best friends.   Now, not only do I get paid to help people have parties, ...

trifles and truffles ...

... or not. There's not really any truffles in this post, but I loved the way that title just rolled off my tongue!    The Pampered Chef is having a trifle bowl special! For the month of April only, you can purchase a trifle bowl for yourself or for a gift for a mother, sister, aunt, grandma, friend or anybody you know or have even met once, for just $29!! That's a $10.50 savings! In the spirit of that special, and so I have something to talk about at my shows, I've made a couple of trifles this past week - and let me tell you, we have all been missin' out; why haven't we been making more of these!?! To see the specifics of our trifle bowl (which is better than all the rest), check out my Pampered Chef Web site.    I'm including the two recipes I tried out below. I can definitely tell you that I will be making the strawberry one more often - it was wonderful! I made it for Easter to take to my in-laws', and with the seven of us eating, we only had a...

My first visit to the blogosphere

A little bit about me: if you haven't read my profile or you don't already know me, you might not know this. I am an independent consultant for two wonderful companies, The Pampered Chef and Close to My Heart. I also have a couple of other jobs to keep me busy, but the main focus of this blog will probably focus on my exploits in both of those roles. I am also happily married and have been very lucky to end up in a wonderful town in Nebraska, close to many of our wonderful family and friends (even though I am a Kansas girl through and through), and if I had to guess, I'd say some of that might end up in this blog. As a little business plug, if you are interested in making purchases please contact me at jamiedusin@hotmail.com or use the link on the left page to visit my CTMH Web site. You can also visit my Pampered Chef Web site, contact me for the link. And now on to my first official blog post:    I consider myself a crafty person and I love to cook...
