Scrapbooking ... the easy, mess-less way!!

If you ever would have told me that I would one day be a fan of digital scrapbooking, I would have told you, "No way, No How, Not Gonna Happen!" But, I'm changing my tune.
Last week, Close to My Heart went live with it's own "digital scrapbooking" software - Studio J!
I finally broke down this weekend and purchased my first three layouts. I haven't gotten my layouts in hand yet, so I'm not totally sure what they're going to look like, but I've seen some fellow consultants have purchased. And I'm excited!
The pictures are the three layouts I created on Studio J! Click on them to see the whole layout.

I am not going to lie to you; I don't think I'll ever totally convert to digital - I just love the hands-on approach too much! But for those who don't have the time, space, ability, confidence, etc. to do the "traditional" scrapbooking, I think this is the perfect answer!
I know there are many digital scrapbooking options out there for you, but let me give you some of the highlights of ours.
The first - and most important to some - is that you don't have to purchase any software to use Studio J! It's a FREE online software! You go to my Web site, and click on "Studio J Online Scrapbooking," and sign in/create an account and you're ready to roll. There is even an option there for you to just try it out before creating an account, if you just want to play. You can even try it out right now, without uploading any pictures!
The software walks you right through the steps, from uploading your photos, to picking your paper to even picking your layout! There is even some basic photo editing included!
The paper packs available on Studio J are many of the same ones that are in our Idea Book and some older, discontinued ones! New paper packs will be released on Studio J when the next Idea Book is released.
If you've ever used one of Close to My Heart's How-To Books, you'll be right at home with Studio J. You decide how many pictures you want to put on your two-page layout, and the stoftware gives you layout options to choose from.

Step one: choose your paper pack! Step two: choose your layout ... look by numbers of photos or look at all options. Step three: choose which paper combination you want for your layout. Step four: create! Mix and match different paper options; add photos; add embellishments, (buttons, stickers, brads, ribbons - anything!) titles and journaling. Step five: that's it; you're done! How quick does that sound?
And, you have the option to match your embellishments to your paper - you can pick the color you want! Some of you might be scared by that, but don't worry, the software won't let you choose a bad combination!! It gives you options that will look well together and you choose which one you want; you can change all the buttons to the same color or make each one different. It's totally up to you!
Love the layout, but your picture doesn't fit? Just rotate the whole page 90 degrees with a simple click!!
And then you purchase your layout and the company mails it directly to you! Want more than one copy? No problem!!
One note, though: the software is not meant to be a photo storage site. It will save your layouts as long as you make a purchase every 90 days, but it won't save them forever.
I could tell you much more about it, but I promise you, it's much easier to fall in love with if you actually get on and play with it! I know it's not for everybody ... and, like I said, I don't think I'll ever switch completely over, but I know it will definitely come in handy sometimes. Imagine not having to cut the paper, match the embellishments and trim your photos to fit. And what about not having to actually get your photos printed and sorted? What a time-saver!!
Here's another idea: Want to see how a layout looks with paper, but don't want to waste your paper in case you don't like it? Design it on Studio J ... and then re-create it with paper when you love it! Or, just purchase it on Studio J!

Have questions? Please let me help you! Or want to see some of the layouts I've made in person? Contact me today and I'll show you mine (just as soon as they arrive!)!!!
   Happy Tuesday!

Constantly looking for one place to store all your important dates?

How many of you have all kinds of important dates running through your head, like birthdays and anniversaries, that you know you are bound to forget? I know I do ... and have. I can remember the random birthday of a college friend's brother or a high school class mate that I haven't really talked to since high school, but I can't remember my sister-in-law's or many of my best friends' special days, and even after only three years of marriage, I'll admit I've even once spaced off my own anniversary and scheduled a Pampered Chef show (it isn't always the husbands who do this!) I've tried storing these dates in different places: I've made an altered rolodex for that purpose, but I never filled it out; I've also used - and even made my own - card book. The one I got for high school graduation, I filled in all the dates, but at this point in time, I can't tell you where the book is. The one I made myself, I don't know if I even filled i

My attempts at photo editing sites ...

Hey there blog readers! I know, I know, I was supposed to be posting more regularly ... I'm sorry. But my garage sale is done, so that means I should have more time to post, right? The reason I am posting today is for that Nebraska Learns class I talked about at the beginning of the month. Nothing like procrastinating - today is the last day I can complete it! ;) I am actually really enjoying this first "assignment." Our assignment was to play with photo editing sites. For my scrapbooking friends out there, I'm thinking this could do wonders for your already wonderful pages! As I was working on my second picture, I had an idea. There are many pictures - like that particular one - that I'd like to include in my scrapbook, but can't make myself create a whole page for a picture of a flower ... but can you imagine putting this photo of the flower on it? I can. How much cooler would that make the page? I could talk about where I was and why I took the pictu
